Foot, Body or Combination: Which Massage Should You Book?

Book a foot massage if your feet and legs carry your day. Book a body massage if your neck, shoulders or back are tight. If you want both, or you are not sure, book the Combination: feet first, then the body, in one visit. It is the most booked service at both Serenity Zen studios.

Every foot massage and Combination begins here, with a warm mineral soak.
The short answer
Foot massage: for tired feet and legs. You stay fully clothed.
Body massage: for the neck, shoulders, back and legs, in a private room.
Combination: feet first, then the body, in one visit.
Not sure: a 60-minute Combination, 30 minutes on the feet and 30 on the body.
Every length and its price is shown when you book.

Foot massage: for feet that carry the day

A foot massage starts with a warm mineral soak, then steady pressure on the reflex points of the feet and lower legs. It is reflexology-based, and you stay fully clothed, so wear something that rolls up above the calf.

Choose 45 minutes for a full session on the feet, 60 to add time for the calves and lower legs, or 90 for the deepest reset. More on the foot massage page and in what foot reflexology is.

Body massage: for the back, neck and shoulders

A body massage covers the whole body in a private room, at the pressure you ask for, from light Swedish to deep tissue. Both are the same price. You undress to your comfort level and stay covered by a sheet, and only the area being worked on is uncovered. Most guests keep their underwear on.

Every body massage follows the Zen Flow™ method: the back is opened first, then long, connected strokes, with pressure that deepens as you breathe out. Choose 45 minutes for focused work on a smaller area, 60 for the full body at a steady pace, or 90 to stay longer where you are tightest.

The Combination: when you want both

The Combination is a foot massage first, starting with the warm mineral soak, then a body massage with oil at the same curtained station. You stay fully clothed for the feet, then undress to your comfort level behind the curtains for the body, and stay draped.

  • 60 minutes: 30 on the feet, 30 on the body.

  • 75 minutes: 30 on the feet, 45 on the body.

  • 90 minutes: 30 on the feet and 60 on the body, or 60 on the feet and 30 on the body.

More on the Combination page.

Shape it to what you need

Styles are added to a body massage when you book online, under Massage Styles:

  • Target: choose up to three areas, such as neck, shoulders or lower back, and only those are worked.

  • Scalp Massage: slow, unhurried work across the scalp, at medium firmness.

  • Ashiatsu: your therapist works your back and legs with their feet, for very deep, even pressure.

  • Prenatal: side-lying and bolstered, at every stage of pregnancy and after delivery. See prenatal massage.

Enhancements can be added to any service: hot stones, a steam eye mask, essential oils, menthol balm, CBD balm, cupping, or your own oil or balm. Online booking offers them once you choose your service, and each one is described on the enhancements page.

From Dr. Nick
If you can name the one place that hurts, book a body massage and say where. If you are tired all over, start with the feet. If you are torn, the Combination settles it.

Common questions

I have never had a massage. Which should I book?

A 60-minute Combination. You try both kinds of work in one visit, and you can change the pressure at any point without explaining why. There is more in what to expect at your first massage.

Do I have to undress for a foot massage?

No. You stay fully clothed for a foot massage. Wear pants that roll up above the calf.

Can two of us book different services?

Yes. A couples massage starts two guests at the same time, each with their own service, length and pressure.

How much does each one cost?

Every length and its price is shown when you book, next to the times that are open. Swedish and deep tissue are the same price.
